Music

Yups its Friday and I am back on schedule!!!

Soo.....

Happy Sasquatch Friday !!!

Check these kids out and pay attention!

I was a little downtrodden from reading the paper this morning. I sat there sipping my coffee while contemplating all the worlds' woes, when I was interupted by a tug on my pants. Startled, I looked down to see my little closet dwarf looking up at me holding out a piece of paper. I took the scrap and looked, there were two words written; tUnE yArDs.....

Listening to the Tune Yards litterally makes me wanna take my shoes off and dance barefoot! Merrils voice looped over a drum beat which is looped over subsequent layers of awesomeness makes my brains pop and whir !!! These guys are VERY close to being on my must see list. When else can we see an androgynous person blow our minds with a ukelele !!!

"There is nothing more helpless and irresponsible than a man in the depths of an ether binge."
 Hunter S. Thompson

Chortle, Giggle, Snort!!

Oh man, did we ever find a gem this week!
If you like "Jam" bands and their ethereal, smoke a joint or dive into a "k" hole style of rock and roll the Here We Go Magic might be for you...  I will be rolling a nervous horse on the way to Sasquatch, just in case I happen upon this show!

Peace

Music!

Hi Fuckies!!

Its a day late, I know....

 So...

 Happy Sasquatch Saturday!!!

Lezzgo!

Chiddy Bang you say, well I say Chiddy Chiddy Bang Bang!

Well here are a couple of Philly boys that have been creating quite a stir in the hip-hop world. Over the past few years Chiddy Bang has been quietly dropping greasy tracks, selling out shows and they just released their new album Breakfast. Clever sampling and good writing are what catch my attention.
I can see myself cranking their song "Opposite of Adults" in my truck while I buying a mid summa ice cream at the Dairy Queen drive-thru...

Mad ping-pong skillz!!

Throw Back!

There is a difference though, between me hassling drive-thru kids with my obnoxious stereo and actually going to the Chiddy Bang show.

Rocker Chicks Roooooool!!!!

Lets make this one quick shall we...

If I were a making a PG-13 teen girl "coming of age" movie, Wild Flag would be all over the sound track! Nuff said...

Well Reptar is, well they're just Reptar.... They are talented and seemingly well on there way to losing the plot. In listening to Reptar I am reminded of the Flaming Lips and Frank Zappa, I am also reminded that some people don't like the Lips or Zappa. So with that in mind I think it is safe to say that the Reptar  show isn't for everyone. As I see it, it might be worth hitting up the Reptar show just to watch lead singer Graham Ulincy stick out his tongue, he seems to do it quite a bit.

I not gonna lie, this weeks post was a bit of a hassle. I started off strong, stoked to listen to some new music but quickly faded as none of the artists really got me excited... There is a silver lining though, I think that we have found some solid Plan B artists in Chiddy Bang and Reptar. Lets face the facts though, no matter what show the DFM crew decides to crash, its gonna be a good time.... Cuz we are the sauce that makes dancing greasy!!!

Oh I nearly forgot, check the KEXP website cuz its a pretty good time!!

Until next week!
